We are John and Herman, and we live in Koog aan de Zaan, Holland. One of our greatest
hobbies is our French Bulldogs, Oscar, Diva, Maggie, Sofie, Donatella and Minke. These lively,
cheery and robust little monsters are a very big part of our lives, and they bring us lots of joy and
laughter every single day!

We got our first French bulldog, Oscar, in October 2000 and things have never been quite
the same since he arrived... This little guy took over our lives from the moment he came
home, and as anyone who has a Frenchie can tell you, once you have one, there is no
turning back: to know one is to love them all! It didn't take us long before we decided that
we wanted a companion for Oscar, and for ourselves. We got our girl Diva in December
2001.

At the time we were looking for a female, we went to a lot of dog shows, and had our eye
on a gorgeous, solidly built, well proportioned dark brindled male. His name was Kadin's
Urkan v. Sans Pareil, and at the time he was doing exceptionally well in the show ring.
Urkan won many shows and quickly went on to become Dutch Champion, and was Youth
Champion, and Champion 2 times in the prestigious World Winner show.  We were very lucky
to get a female from a litter he sired:  Godiva van het Maasjesfles, or as we call her, Diva.

Having gone to many shows to look at dogs, we found that we liked the excitement of
showing and we attended several club matches and dog shows with Diva, when she was
old enough. Diva did pretty well earning several "very good" and "excellent" qualifications,
and a few placings, as well. Because of her qualifications, we decided that when she was
old enough, we would breed her and keep one of her pups. We felt that she should be more
than a puppy herself when bred, and waited until she was 2 years old. During the year of
waiting we continued going to shows with Diva, and met a lot of breeders at the shows,
most of whom were helpful, informative and supportive of our plans. There were even a
few who stood behind us, and offered tips, guidance and support, day and night,
throughout the entire process: from the stud phase up until the placing of the pups in their
new homes. I won't name names, but these good people have become good friends, and to
them we will always be very, very grateful.

Diva's first litter was born in April 2004. She gave birth to 5 healthy pups, 4 dogs and 1
bitch. Her pups were raised in our living room, amongst all the daily household activities,
and daily visits from the neighborhood kids.

Because of our love for French bulldogs, we decided to set up a small, living room,
hobby-type breeding program at home. Our plans include occasionally breeding a litter of
pups using carefully selected bloodlines with a strong emphasis on health, character, and
physical appeal. Keeping one of the females from each litter and increasing our bulldog
family, and placing the other pups into good homes is also part of the plan.

We are members of the national French Bulldog organization, The Holland Bulldog Club,
and our dogs are bred in compliance with their requirements and standards, as stipulated
in the HBC Breeders Code of Ethics.

On 9 September 2007 our youngest self-bred bitch, Donatella, was born.  Donatella is an
extremely sweet tempered and very lady-like bulldog girl.  Her father is one of the most
promising dogs in the Dutch show circuit at the moment. When she is old enough to strut her
stuff, we'll start to enter her in the national dog shows.

Our newest bitch is Naima's Minke v. Sans Pareil and she is a half-sister of our Diva:  they
were both sired by Dutch Champion Kadin's Urkan v. Sans Pareil.  For us the circle is now
complete.  We began 7 years ago with a daughter of Urkan and we now look forward to the
future with both Minke and Donatella who is a daughter of Bringe Danjo v. Sans Pareil.
